Your nutrition data
Nourish processes health-related information to calculate estimates, display trends, log meals, and generate optional AI-assisted meal content. This notice describes what the app stores, what is sent to AI providers, and how you can export or delete your data.
Data we store
- Nourish stores your weight and optional measurements, food entries, dietary restrictions, allergies, activity, coaching check-ins, Ask conversations and saved coach memories, and calculated nutrition estimates while your account is active.
- If you connect Intervals.icu, Nourish encrypts the API key or OAuth token on the server and uses it only to read your activity calories. The credential is never sent back to the browser or to AI providers.
- When you use Ask, meal planning, or food parsing, the relevant profile, meal, and preference details are sent to OpenRouter and the model provider it routes the request to.
- Food names and barcodes you search are sent to Open Food Facts and, when configured, USDA FoodData Central. Your Nourish profile and food history are not included in those searches.
- Nutrition-label photos are sent to OpenRouter and its selected model provider to read the printed values. Nourish does not save these photos; only food details you confirm are saved.
- Ask messages and memories are stored so your conversation can continue across visits. Other raw AI prompts and responses are not stored; operational metadata such as model, latency, status, and token usage is retained.
- You can export your data or delete your account. Account deletion removes the live account and its nutrition records.
Why and where it is processed
Data is processed to provide the service you request, keep your account secure, and meet legal obligations. The primary database is hosted by the Nourish operator. Depending on where you and the service providers are located, data may be processed outside your country.
Who processes AI requests
Clerk processes authentication data. Meal planning, meal questions, check-in feedback, and free-text food parsing are sent from the Nourish server to OpenRouter, which may route the request to the selected model provider. Food search sends only the search name or barcode to Open Food Facts and, if enabled, USDA FoodData Central. Intervals.icu processes activity data only if you connect it. Nourish requests zero-data-retention routing for AI calls, but provider terms and availability still apply.
When you scan a nutrition label, its photo is sent through OpenRouter to the selected image-reading provider. Nourish processes the photo in memory and does not save it. Only the food details you confirm are saved to your diary or favourites.
Retention and control
Food logs, plans, weight records, restrictions, activity records, Ask conversations, and coach memories remain while the account is active. You can delete individual Ask conversations and memories inside Ask. Limited security and backup copies may remain until their normal retention window expires. You can export your live data as JSON or delete your account from Settings. You may also ask the operator to correct, restrict, or provide information about your data, subject to applicable law.
Security and incidents
Nourish uses encrypted transport, access controls, encrypted integration credentials, and encrypted backups. No system is risk-free. If an incident creates a legally reportable risk, affected people and authorities will be notified as required.

Important limits
Nourish provides general wellness estimates, not medical advice. Generated plans are designed to avoid recorded restrictions, but users must still check labels and preparation, especially for allergies.
